Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 107, Jan. 28, 2016

Coach John Ray and Doug Dean welcome special guest, former Auburn wide receiver Devin Aromashodu, for a very timely discussion of recruiting, special big game memories, and of course, the upcoming Super Bowl matchup featuring two legendary SEC quarterbacks in Peyton Manning and Cam Newton.

Aromashodu was part of arguably the best WR signing class in Auburn history in which he joined Anthony Mix, Ben Obomanu, and Courtney Taylor as incoming freshmen.  The quartet would go on to be part of the 2004 undefeated Auburn team which many consider the most dominant SEC Champion in the modern era.

Aromashodu also has insight into NFL great Peyton Manning, having been a teammate of Manning at the Super Bowl champion Colts.

Join Coach Ray and Doug Dean for a fascinating discussion, including the latest on recruiting as February 3rd National Signing Day is a mere week away!

Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 106, Jan. 21, 2016

It may prove the case that Gus Malzahn and his staff’s most important “recruitments” will be stud defensive end Carl Lawson, and veteran defensive lineman Montravius Adams opting to pass on the NFL draft to return for the 2016 season.  Heading into the ’16 season, barring injury, the Tigers will have an experienced, deep defensive front to complement the talented secondary.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they discuss the returning roster strengths and weaknesses heading into spring, and key developments on the recruiting front as February 3rd national signing day approaches.

Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 105, Jan. 13, 2016

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they cover the big moves Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn has made in recent days to fill out his staff for the 2016 season, from the promotion of Travis Williams to linebackers coach to the unexpected departure of O-Line coach J. B. Grimes and hiring of Penn State O-line coach Herb Hand.  Hand is a former colleague of Malzahn’s from his 2007-2008 Tulsa days, which portends the full-on commitment by Malzahn to return the read-option attack in ’16.

Ray and Dean also discuss the huge news that Carl Lawson will forego the NFL draft to return for his senior season, which may be Malzahn’s most important “recruitment” this year.  Finally, Coach Ray and Dean discuss the emergence of the relatively new “loss of value” insurance policies for likely NFL first round drafts like Carl Lawson, and whether programs like Auburn should fund such policies.

Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 104, Jan. 6, 2016

After several weeks of rumored “done deal” hires of several defensive coordinator candidates that fell prey to either misinformation or misfired hires, Coach Gus Malzahn delivered in impressive fashion by plucking veteran defensive coach Kevin Steele from LSU coach Les Miles’ staff in Baton Rouge.  Coach Steele was introduced in Auburn at a January 5th presser, and did nothing but impress the AU faithful.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they further analyze the impact of the Kevin Steele hire, his leadership qualities, and the defensive scheme he can be expected to deploy heading into the 2016 season.
