Winner Take All for the SEC West in the 82nd Iron Bowl!

On a depressing return trip from Baton Rouge on October 14th, few Auburn people would have given much hope for Gus Malzahn’s Auburn Tigers to play themselves into playoff contention, having suffered a second loss to LSU. Yet, this Saturday’s No. 6 ranked Auburn vs No. 1 ranked Alabama match amounts to a semifinal game for the SEC Championship.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they welcome special guest Roger Mitchell, a legend from the 1972 Auburn “Punt, Bama, Punt” 17-16 win over the Tide for a bit of nostalgia and analysis of the big game!

With an epic beatdown of No. 1 Georgia on the resume, Auburn looks to La Mo

If the November 11th game against Georgia was a referendum on Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn’s job security, you can go ahead and end any and all talk of any proverbial hot seat. All Malzahn’s Tigers did was absolutely dominate the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs from start to finish.

And remarkably, most believe the now No. 6 ranked Tigers truly do control their own destiny, and should they find a way to run the table through ULM this Saturday, then Bama in the Iron Bowl, and a rematch with Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, they are in the four team playoff.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean for the analysis!

Gus Malzahn must be pinching himself this game week, as only a month ago, the angry mob was gathering in Auburn in the wake of a very avoidable road loss to LSU.

Now, Auburn sits in the No. 10 ranked Playoff Selection Committee poll, but with resume boosters in the next few games that no other team in America can boast.

The question, obviously, is whether this team, and this Malzahn coaching staff, has adapted, gained confidence, and is ready to take down the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs with the help of a rabid crowd in packed Jordan-Hare stadium this Saturday.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean for the discussion!

Auburn Network Color Analyst Stan White previews the Auburn vs Texas A&M game

While the open week undoubtedly help the Auburn coaching staff get some walking wounded starters back to full speed, the unfortunate exception was the loss of RB Kam Pettway with a fractured scapula from the Arkansas game.

Meanwhile, the Tigers, surprisingly, enter November with a heck of a lot still on the line due to their remaining opponents in the Aggies, followed by # 1 ranked Georgia, and # 2 ranked Alabama. The big stage is set, so the question to be answered is whether this Auburn team will thrive, or wilt, under a huge spotlight.

Join cohosts Coach John Ray and Doug Dean along with special guest Stan White, Auburn Network color analyst, in a detailed scouting report on the Auburn vs Texas A&M game coming up this Saturday, November 4th in College Station.

Auburn looks to pick up the pieces from devastating loss at LSU

There are losses teams in the brutal SEC experience most years, and then, Oh brother, then there are losses which on the surface at least, appeared entirely avoidable with smarter coaching moves in the second half. Such was the case in Gus Malzahn’s second loss of the 2017 season at Death Valley in Baton Rouge, the first SEC loss of the season for Auburn.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they analyze, with unapologetic candor, what appeared to go awry in the game, and where Gus Malzahn’s offense most needs to focus attention as they hit the road again to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on the struggling 2-4 Hogs.

Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 155, Oct. 11, 2017

Are the Auburn Tigers man enough to beat LSU in Death Valley?

The 5-1 and 10th ranked Auburn Tigers certainly appear to have hit their stride through the midpoint of the season, as the once anemic offense has lit up the scoreboard for over 40 points the last two games, while the defense continues to play at a very high level (notwithstanding 4th quarter lapses against Ole Miss by Auburn backups).

But how real is the progress, given the questionable level of competition from Mizzou, to Mississippi State, and this past weekend, a faltering Ole Miss team?

Baton Rouge has a way of sorting out that uncertainty, as evidenced by the Auburn Tigers not having left victorious in Death Valley since 1999. So join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they discuss the question at hand in this podcast, are the Auburn Tigers man enough to go win in Red Stick?

Auburn Football All-Access Podcast, Episode 154, Oct. 4, 2017

Auburn looks to keep momentum going against Ole Miss

With the arrival of the October phase of the 2017 Auburn football schedule, the Tigers find themselves in a relatively enviable position at 4-1, with the sole loss to the # 2 ranked Clemson Tigers. As such, the Tigers do indeed control their own destiny on all fronts, but what work is most urgently required in this week sandwiched between the two Mississippi SEC West teams to give Malzahn’s team a legit shot to contend late into November?

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean for the analysis, including a scouting report on this Ole Miss team which is coming off a 66-3 drubbing by Alabama.

Will the Auburn offense make another step in becoming a complete team?

This Saturday night’s matchup against two SEC West one-loss teams in Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Auburn Tigers vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs should answer interesting questions, one of which is whether State is the team that hammered LSU two weeks ago, or instead, the team that was pounded by Georgia between the hedges.

For Auburn, the question is to what extent the 51-point offensive explosion at Mizzou last Saturday night was a reliable indicator, or instead, fool’s gold as a result of a very weak opponent.

Join cohosts Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they peer into the crystal ball, and offer opinions as to how both coaching staffs may attack strategically.

Special Guest and Auburn coaching great Joe Whitt Discusses Auburn Football

As the Auburn Tigers enter SEC play in week four of the 2017 season, going on the road to face Missouri, it’s a good time to bring on a special guest with a deep knowledge of Auburn football back to the days of Coach Pat Dye, as well as a window into this Auburn team.

Join Coach John Ray and Doug Dean as they welcome Auburn coaching legend, Joe Whitt, who first joined the Auburn football coaching staff under Coach Dye in the early ’80s. Coach Whitt brings a sage, proven understanding of defensive football to the banter, and he even offers insight into what it will take for the Auburn offense to get untracked.
