On a depressing return trip from Baton Rouge on October 14th, few Auburn people would have given much hope for Gus Malzahn’s Auburn Tigers to play themselves into playoff contention, having suffered a second loss to LSU. Yet, this Saturday’s No. 6 ranked Auburn vs No. 1 ranked Alabama match amounts to a semifinal game for the SEC Championship.
